Pavithra Kumar

I am a trainee clinical psychologist on the 2025-2028 DClinPsy programme, with particular interests in complex trauma, the psychological impact of hospitalisation, and improving access to psychological services for individuals from minoritized ethnic backgrounds.
I completed my BSc (Hons) in Psychology (Applied) at Heriot-Watt University, followed by an MSc in Applied Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath. Before commencing doctoral training, some of the roles I held were that of a research assistant and assistant psychologist.
My clinical and research experiences have strengthened my commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care and to addressing inequalities in mental health provision.
